I know it's not the place for a ride report, but it wasn't really much of a ride, so I thought I'd pop it in here.
Ran up to Ullapool via Lowflyers (mechanicing on his eldest sons car so couldn't come out to play) & Lairg.
Great weather, less holiday makers than of late (still too many at times - Ullapool was heaving with them) but the bestest roads were nice & quiet. Found this place as I wandered about . . . .
I like to think of it as "A Bridge too Far", 'cos there was nowt else from here on. The water is Loch Ailsh (I'd never heard of it, but it does appear on the map) and the area around it would make a fantastic wild camp spot.
One for the future, maybe![]()

Well, I took Fiona's BMW down the coast to Boyndie to check out the supermoto racing, didn't take any pics, quite dull really.
I'll post this here as it a bit quieter than the national forum.
I think Ray and John are travelling down to the National tomorrow (Thursday) and the intention is to meet in Edinburgh around 12ish. Are you guys OK about meeting at my house as it's only about 1/2 mile off the main route?
If so let me know and I'll PM you address and postcode
Cheers
G.

So here by 12 then...I'll have the kettle on.
Any particular route you fancy. We can either take the A68 (nearly) all the way or take the A1/A19 which is about 20 mins shorter on google but a bit dull. I must admit I'd prefer the A68 but you guys have further to go so you choose.

Free beers tomorrow !!!
As the nights are fair drawing in and there may not me too many more opportunities for getting away camping this year is anyone up for a night or two away this weekend coming 25th September? The weather forecast looks to be dry, but nippy at night so pack those winter kilts..
Somewhere central like Red Squivvel or a bit further north the new(ish) campsite at Fort Augustus. A rideout during the day and a few beers in the pub at night should be just the ticket
To the south Comrie croft is also highly recommended and allow fires but no beer shop nearby so a trip to the local off licence would be required.
Anyone up for it?

Lowflyer and I were discussing the coming weekends activities just yesterday evening.
Discussed a Skye run in a little detail, with Sunday mentioned, as Lowflyer has lots of chores to do after being away all week drinking! Sorry, scrub that last bit, he was working, honest.
Wot about the others in these nether regions?
